Inception

Inception

rating scale 1-5
CriteriaRatingComments
plot/pacing 4Though I personally enjoyed the plot immensely it did get a bit confusing.  On the other hand the pacing was superb and kept every one waiting to see how it would end. Although a lot of people didn’t like the ending, I thought it was imaginative and very original.
actors and characters3.5 Overall the acting in Inception was pleasant.  The film stared: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
directing5I think Christopher Nolan did an excellent job directing Inception.  The story he put together was confusing, suspenseful and kept audiences on the edge of their seats the entire time.
mood 5Inception’s mood stayed dark and serious most of the movie, leaving you at the end wondering if it had ended happily or not.
special effects5I thought the special effects were first-rate.  From the room of zero gravity to the city in “Limbo.”

Review

Inception is a story of a thief, but Dom Cobb is no common thief that steals common things.  He enters others dreams, where he steals from there subconscious minds.  He now if offered a deal of a life time, the opportunity to be reunited with his children he has not seen in a matter of years.  The problem is the mission seems impossible, only one other has ever been able to plant an idea in some ones mind.  But Cobb believes he can do it again.  Even if the last time didn’t end so well.

Inception was directed by the famous film making visionary Christopher Nolan.  Who not only directed it but also wrote the screenplay.  The story of Dom Cobb that Nolan wrote and brought to life was action packed, full of suspense and kept the audience on the edge of their seats the entire time.  The film stared the legendary Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page.  The three-along with the rest of the cast really brought the film to life.  But their was something to be desired by their acting at times.

The pacing was perfect, when I try to think of a uneventful part none come to mind.  I personally thought the plot was superb.  Though many thought the plot confusing, I got it pretty easily the first time around.  Between the amazing special effects and plot Inception was an unforgettable film.  Another thing a lot of people didn’t like was the ending, to me the ending was imaginative and original.  And probably my favorite part of the movie.  Inception’s mood stayed pretty dark and serious most of the movie.  In the end the movie left you wondering if it truly had ended happily or not.

Overall I think Inception is a true classic that audiences will enjoy for years to come.   I would give this scifi thriller a 4.5, so it’s pretty obvious I enjoyed it and would recommend it to any one who  enjoys movies that are complicated and  mind  boggling.
