Trash Response #2

  • I think Olivia grew up in a family that didn't really have any money problems.  So when she came to Behala it really opened up her eyes to the rest of the world.  She realized that the people in her world really didn't care about anything other than money and what it could do for them.  And I think that really changed her character and her perspective on the world.
  • The article that was the most anti-Zapanta was the "University Voice."  They said that he was a "bad, greedy old man" and that he was "lining pockets."  While the most pro-Zapanta was the "Star Extra."  They said that they were "confident that a breakthrough is imminent."
  • I think Andy Mulligan placed the last scene in the graveyard because it made it more suspenseful and dramatic.  What with all the people and it being the day of the dead.

Life Among Trash
Towers of garbage stacked high, as if reaching towards the sky,
The children sift among the grimy, dirt-covered trash, for it is their ticket to survival.
They are covered in grease and disease, most search through the muck all day hoping to find something worthwhile,
The question remains, will they? will they ever find anything but plastics, papers and stupp?
One boy does, he finds the treasure that will change his life.
Though it is not a usual treasure such as glittering gold or sparkling silver it is a treasure to him.  For that bag changes everything.
